Art Activities
2-4pm: Art workshop run by local artist John Gordon. You’ll explore patterns and mark making to create bonfire/firework inspired artwork.
3-4pm: Photo workshop run by Louise and Rachael. You’ll be invited to draw with light using sparklers and torches to create long exposure photographs in the Craigmillar Now garden.
Food
3-5pm: Vegetarian lunch served by Buthena from local group Food & Blether. Buthena will be in the centre preparing a delicious minestrone soup for folk to enjoy at the centre or take away.
3:30-4:30pm: Karin from Craigmillar Community Grows will have a fire set up in the garden for you to enjoy marshmallows round the fire.
Bonus:
We’re also hoping to have some slides projected from our archive showing Craigmillar during Halloween!
Craigmillar Now is located at 58 Newcraighall Road, EH153HS (the church beside Fort Kinnaird).
We have an accessible car park on site with ramp access. The workshop will be held in the ground floor of the centre and outside space. We have central heating in the building but please layer up as the door will be kept open during the afternoon and some activities will be hosted outside.
Free to attend and drop ins welcome but please let us know you’re coming along in advance.
Here & Now is an arts and outdoors programme in collaboration with Craigmillar Community Grows.
