MURAL WORKSHOP w/ GUS MEECHAN
Thursday 27th October

6 places available

free to attend
Join us Thursday 27th October 2-5pm at Craigmillar Now for a creative afternoon painting your very own Niddrie Brick and exploring mural painting with local artist Gus Meechan!
Gus invites participants to paint onto their very own Niddrie brick which will be displayed in the Craigmillar Now garden alongside adding brush strokes to the new shipping container mural on the grounds of Craigmillar Now dedicated to the historic Niddrie Brickworks and Mining community.
Many of the murals around Craigmillar have been painted by Gus and he will share his history and activism through artwork within the community during the session. You do not need to be skilled or experienced in painting to join this workshop.
6 spaces available. Please wear warm outdoor clothes that you don't mind getting paint on. Refreshments provided. Materials provided. Free to attend but please let us know you're coming in advance.
We'll be hosting a vegetarian lunch at 1:30pm before the session which all are welcome to attend.
Craigmillar Now is located at 58 Newcraighall Road, EH153HS (the church across from Fort Kinnaird).
We have an accessible car park on site with ramp access. The workshop will be based on the ground floor of the centre and in the Craigmillar outdoor space. The area around the shipping container is mostly flat concrete which should support those requiring mobility aids (if you have concerns about this let me know). There is a kitchen facility inside with a fridge and kettle for those that wish to bring their own refreshments (there is a step up to access the kitchen)
If you have any access needs you feel we should know about please don't hesitate to get in touch via the form or contact louise@craigmillarnow.com
